New Girl is known for its wild, wacky, and utterly memorable characters. The entire cast is outstanding, but none seem to capture the essence of hilarity quite like Max Greenfield's take on Schmidt.

You can always count on Schmidt to have the funniest lines on the show, and to consistently come out of left field with the most ridiculous ideas. However, no matter how much many awkward memories and facts Schmidt reveals about himself, fans have always been curious about his most treasured secret.

Schmidt has never spoken his first name.

The character has gone by Schmidt, and only Schmidt, since the series premiere. Ever since, he's made a big deal about wanting to keep the name on the down-low. He's always been a bit embarrassed about it, so he's gone to great lengths to keep it from people.

However, on the latest episode of New Girl, the character finally revealed his first name - Winston Schmidt.

Once you hear the name, it makes sense why he's kept it a secret for so long. As you probably know, Winston is one of the other main characters on the show. Schmidt, Winston, and Nick have been best friends for a very long time. It's clear that Schmidt likes being his own man, and sharing a name with one of his closest pals just wouldn't do.

Well, now the secret is out. Schmidt is needing to use his first name again, in order to branch out in the business world, so he's asking Winston to give it up.

There can only be one, and Schmidt is aiming to take the crown.
