29 Star Wars Characters Who Return in New TV Show That’s Now Streaming

The galaxy far, far away is getting a new coat of paint, and it’s a brilliant, multi-colored one at that. A new animated series, Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, debuting today on Disney+, has thrown the Star Wars universe into a state of delightful chaos, where the lines between good and evil are hilariously blurred. Thanks to a mix-up with a powerful Jedi artifact, heroes have become villains, villains have become heroes, and beloved characters (some of whom have not been formally introduced in current canon still) have been reimagined in wild new ways. This is a chance to see classic favorites like you’ve never seen them before, with many of the original actors returning to voice their new takes on iconic roles.

3. Jar Jar Binks

Ahmed Best returns to voice Jar Jar, but this time, he’s not the clumsy Gungan we know. He is the Sith Lord Darth Jar Jar, with a dark presence and a surprising mastery of the Force.

4. Wicket the Ewok

Dee Bradley Baker, a veteran of Star Wars animation, voices Wicket—an Ewok who was seen in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. The Ewok is a bounty hunter in this new reality, a shocking but fitting change from the friendly Endor native.

5. Mace Windu

TC Carson voices Mace Windu. The Jedi Master is imprisoned in this reality, but his powerful presence and lightsaber skills make him an integral part of the team.

6. Palpatine

Trevor Devall voices Shiv Palpatine, but not as the evil Emperor. Here, he is a wise and benevolent Jedi Master. This complete change is nothing like his usual persona, as he is a major player on the side of good.

7. C-3PO

C-3PO next to Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker in Star Wars

The one and only Anthony Daniels returns to voice C-3PO. The protocol droid is as fussy and anxious as ever, but in this new reality, he finds himself on the front lines, forced to confront his fears.

8. Asajj Ventress

STAR WARS: THE BAD BATCH, Season 3

Nika Futterman returns to voice the fan-favorite, Asajj Ventress. In this reality, she’s not a dark side acolyte or a bounty hunter, but a rogue agent who may be on the side of good, or maybe not.

9. Ki-Adi-Mundi

Ki-Adi-Mundi Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Voiced by Brian George, Ki-Adi-Mundi is a part of the new Jedi Order. He still has his iconic cone-shaped head and a thoughtful demeanor, but he’s faced with a universe where everything he knows is wrong.

10. Greedo

Jake Green voices the bounty hunter Greedo (who may or may not have shot first in Star Wars: A New Hope). He is no longer a scummy outlaw, but a respected figure who finds himself on the right side of the law— a strange turn of events for the Rodian.

11. Mon Mothma

Jennifer Hale voices the iconic Chandrilan senator, Mon Mothma. Instead of a Rebel leader, she’s a figure working in the shadows, trying to keep the fractured galaxy together and rally a new form of resistance.

12. Kit Fisto (as Darth Kit Fisto)

The wise old Jedi Master is back, brought to life by Piotr Michael. While his wisdom is still unmatched, he’s dealing with a version of the Force that is now completely out of balance.

Kevin Michael Richardson brings Jabba the Hutt to Lego life. In one of the most surprising twists, the crime lord has been transformed into a Jedi who has a calm temperment and a surprising grasp of the Force.

17. Rey

Rey (Helen Sadler) is not the brave “Skywalker” we know and love. The former scavenger and Jedi hero has been corrupted by the dark side and now leads an army of Sith. This is a clever nod to Rey envisioning herself as a Sith in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

18. Vader

23. K-2SO

Alan Tudyk reprises his role as Cassian Andor’s trusty sidekick, K-2SO. The reprogrammed droid is still as sarcastic and blunt as ever, acting as a constant source of comedic relief and a loyal companion to the new heroes.

24. Lando Calrissian

Dee Bradley Baker also takes on the role of Lando Calrissian. He’s no longer just a gambler and a scoundrel, but a Mandalorian bounty hunter known as “the Landolorian;” a new and creative take on a classic character that adds to the series’ chaotic fun.

25. Maul

Darth Maul Star Wars Rebels

Sam Witwer returns to lend his voice to Maul. The former Sith Lord is back, and he’s just as menacing as ever, a deadly presence for the heroes and a dark force to be reckoned with.

General Grievous returns in Lego form, voiced by Matthew Wood. The cyborg general is no longer a villain, but a Jedi; a surprising twist that shows his iconic lightsaber skills used for good.

27. Princess Leia

Shelby Young voices the fearless Princess Leia. She is now the general of a new Rebellion, and she’s as fierce and determined as ever, leading her forces against the darkness.
