Carrie Fisher has been a Hollywood icon for 40 years now, ever since she helped take down the Empire’s planet-destroying super weapon as Princess Leia in the original Star Wars movie in 1977.
And though the late actor can be seen reprising that role one final time in this December’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Fisher’s final recorded performance was just released online as the third season of Amazon’s British sitcom Catastrophe premiered on the streaming service last week.

Fisher filmed this scene in London last year before boarding a plan to return home to Los Angeles. She suffered a heart attack on that flight, ultimately passing away a few days later due to resulting complications.
The scene in questionโcourtesy of Colliderโdepicts Fisher’s character Mia in an improvised bit in which she rambles about her favorite television show, a reality program called “My Children Are Schizophrenic.”
It’s a classic Fisher apearance, reminiscent of her cameos in Scream and Austin Powers. The actor has always been a scene stealer, and this clip here is no different. Fisher features in a lot of the episode as Mia goes to visit her son and his wife, the main characters of the series. But this is her last appearance in the show, taking place in the third season finale. Catastrophe is getting a fourth season next year.
Catastrophe first premiered in the UK on Channel 4, with all six episodes of its seasons released to Amazon shortly after the finales air. Now that the third season has been put on the streaming service, fans can enjoy her final filmed appearance in the United States.
It’s a bittersweet moment and a reminder of a talent that passed too soon, an awful end to the already bad 2016.
But this minor taste isn’t the only appearance left in Carrie Fisher’s historic careerโthe actor will be seen again when General Leia Organa of the Resistance takes on the First Order in director Rian Johnson’s Star Was: The Last Jedi.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi, from writer/director Rian Johnson, is in post-production now for a December 15, 2017 release. The film follows-up and continues the story of the next generation of the saga as Rey, Poe, Finn, and Kylo Ren find their place in the galaxy and follow the legacy of Luke Skywalker, Leia, and Han Solo. Daisy Ridleyreturns to star as Rey, with other returning stars John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Peter Mayhew, Andy Serkis, Anthony Daniels, Lupita Nyong’o Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa. Benicio Del Toro and Laura Dern join the cast in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
