Peter Capaldi will end his run as the twelfth Doctor in this year's Doctor Who Christmas Special, leaving the TARDIS door open for actress Jodie Whittaker to become the Thirteenth Doctor in the series.
Whittaker's milestone debut as the first female Doctor is a much-anticipated event, and BBC is beginning to hype the new transformation with an official first-look image of Jodie Whittaker's Doctor!

Meet the new Doctor
Clearly, Whittaker and the Doctor Who showrunners are embracing change! The Doctor has never looked quite this free-spirited, with the yellow suspenders, turquoise pants, and rainbow-striped gray shirt adding a colorful vitality to the character. The multiple earrings are just icing on the cake.
If Matt Smith created an androgynous alien hipster vibe with his Doctor, Whittaker looks to be creating a more ethereal spirit type - and as you can see below, a lot of fans are instantly embracing the new era!prevnext
