The stakes are getting bigger as the WWE continues its build towards Survivor Series. Less than a week after the WWE announced that Goldberg would have a rematch against Brock Lesnar, Goldberg returned to Monday Night Raw to deliver a violent message to the Beast Incarnate.

Goldberg opened the show with an in-ring interview but was quickly interrupted by Paul Heyman, Lesnar's friend and advocate. Heyman teased that Lesnar was going to come out to confront Goldberg himself, but it was all a ruse to get into Goldberg's head before their match.

Instead, Rusev came out and started to yell at Goldberg, saying that the former WCW Champion didn't have the strength to pull off his two signature moves: the spear and the jackhammer. Goldberg responded by giving Rusev a Jackhammer and then spearing Heyman. The attack sent Heyman to a local medical facility, although it was just a work to build the storyline.

You can check out the full confrontation below, courtesy of the WWE's Twitter account.

This marks the first time that Goldberg has used either of his signature moves in a WWE ring since he left the promotion back in 2004. Goldberg beat Brock Lesnar in his final match at Wrestlemania XX, although both were left laying in the ring thanks to Stone Cold Steve Austin hitting them both with post-match stunners.

Goldberg did spear Scott Steiner and Luke Gallows (who's also now wrestling for the WWE) at an indie wrestling event last year, so we can't say Heyman was the first person since Lesnar to be on the receiving end of one of Goldberg's spears.

After his appearance on RAW, Goldberg tweeted out that he still had some "ring rust" to get rid of before his match at Survivor Series.

So what did you think of Goldberg's spear? Are you hoping that he'll be the one to take down the nearly invincible Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series?
