We learned today that Seth Rollins suffered a legit knee injury on Monday night when he landed awkwardly during his confrontation with Samoa Joe.

Rollins is currently in Birmingham, Alabama to get examined. Once he’s examined, it will be more clear how serious the injury is and if it will force him to miss WrestleMania 33.

As most people know, the WWE has been setting Rollins on a collision course with Triple H for the past 6-8 months. With the feud just heating up, WWE creative will be scrambling to find a replacement for Triple H at Mania.

While Triple H not wrestling is always a possibility, the loss of Seth Rollins would actually make The Game’s involvement all the more important as he is still a huge draw for the WWE.

So, while we hope and pray that Seth Rollins will be able to compete at Mania, here are five alternative opponents for Triple H if Seth has to miss an extended amount of time.

5. Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle

One more match! One more match! Triple H is not actually the person I would like to see Angle have his last Wrestlemania moment with, but damnit, I’ll take a Kurt Angle match however I can get one.ย

Andย while a Kurt Angle Triple H match doesn’t make much sense right now, it would be a hell of a lot easier to get to than last year’s Undertaker and Shane O Mac match.ย

4. Shinuske Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura

Triple H has already brought up his NXT destroyer, Samoa Joe. Who better to combat him than Joe’s NXT rival, Shinsuke Nakamura? While Trips brags about having NXT wrestlers do his bidding, the violins could hit and the crowd would absolutely lose their minds! Or at least I would.ย

We know Trips is taking a loss at Mania to put someone over and we know Nakamura is scheduled to make a main roster debut sooner or later.ย

I just want Shinsuke at Wrestlemania, ok? Sue me.ย

3. Finn Balor

Finn Balor

Finn Balor is on pace to return by Wrestlemania. He currently has no storyline vendettaย other than the man who took him out, Seth Rollins. So, there’s two ways they could play this. One, Trips declares himself the Kingย who vanquishes all thatย step up to his thrown. Balor returns and we have King vs Demon King. Bam.ย

Two, Balor aligns with his boys, The Club, and The Balor Club looks to overthrow the RAW authority. It would be a little harder to get to this one, but the end result would be worth it. Balor is a great heel and Trips has been around so long, people can’t help but respect and cheer him.ย

2. Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe

As of right now, the only other person whose storyline even crosses paths with Triple H is Samoa Joe. While Joe is currently Trips ally, it wouldn’t be too difficult to turn this boat around. The Game could come out on Monday and brag about taking out Rollins. He couldย brag about how Joe is his puppet who he only used to take out his adversary.ย

Joe could slowly turn from mercenary for hire to King slayer. The fans already love Joe. It wouldn’t take much at all to get them to root for him against Trips.ย

1. Shane McMahon

Shane O Mac

Yes, it’s been happening for years, but the McMahon family rivalry is alwaysย a safety net for the WWE. This one actually wouldn’t be too hard to get to. With the brands at war, Shane O Mac could invade RAW and chastise Trips for injuring his own superstars. Or they could simply run back some of the same old McMahon vs McMahon storyย they started last Wrestlemania. The one they let go of once the brands separated.ย

As morbid as Vince is (he did fake his death once), they could play it up as the old man is on his death bed and control of the company is at stake. Then, after Mania, Vince could reveal he was just testing their loyalties. Or whatever.ย

You know you’d watch it.

Let us know in the comments below who you would like to see replace Seth Rollins against Triple H this WrestleMania and let’s all hope no one has to!ย
