Things are not looking great for Brock Lesnar this week.
After the USADA notified Lesnar and UFC that his out-of-competition drug test results were flagged as failing, the 39-year-old and the MMA company received word that Lesnar had indeed failed his second test. This test was the in-competition test that was taken the night of UFC 200, where Lesnar reportedly earned $2.5M as well as possibly millions more in pay-per-view royalties as well.

Mark Hunt, Lesnar’s opponent for the marquee event, has already demanded that he be given half of the victory purse now, and Lesnar is facing several consequences including a hefty fine, which would take up most of the purse, as well as a two-year suspension from the martial arts federation. At the age of 39, taking two years away from fighting could easily end his career in that aspect.
Of course, Lesnar has denied taking any illegal substances and told the Associated Press that “he will get to the bottom of this“.
“The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Brock Lesnar that his in-competition sample collection from July 9, 2016, at UFC 200, has tested positive for the same substance as his previously announced out-of-competition collection on June 28, 2016. “USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case. It is important to note that, under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full fair legal review process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. The Nevada State Athletic Commission also retains jurisdiction over this matter as the sample collection was performed at UFC 200 in Las Vegas. “Consistent with all previous potential anti-doping violations, additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.”
Lesnar is still scheduled to be a part of the WWE Draft tonight, as well as fight the returning Randy Orton at next month’s SummerSlam event. Originally, WWE offered a sort of non-statement saying that Lesnar had not performed for them for several months, seemingly avoiding any sort of blame or even knowledge if Brock was indeed doping. This second test failure could change events completely if Lesnar is confirmed to have been doping. With WWE taking no chances with any sort of negative press, it’s a possibility that even with Lesnar’s box office name, they could part ways if such a result was announced.
