Professional wrestling fans are used to seeing their favorites jump to various brands over the course of their careers, as even the biggest names tend to want a change of scenery after awhile. If you were a fan of the product from 2008 to 2012, you’ll likely remember the name Evan Bourne, and now he’s debuted the newly relaunched Impact Wrestling.

Bourne, who’s real name is Matthew Joseph Korklan, goes by Matt Sydal these days, and made a big appearance at the latest Impact Wrestling television tapings on Friday night (via Wrestling News Source). Sydal competed in a match against Trevor Lee, hitting his famed shooting star press to secure the victory. This will be Sydal’s second time under the Impact Wrestling brand, as he wrestled under the old TNA name back in 2004 and 2005.
It’s unclear if he will be feuding with Lee in the future, but he can definitely put on a show in the ring. He’s always been able to entertain crowds with high-flying moves, something he did with WWE back in 2011 during his time with Kofi Kingston in the tag team Air Boom. The two ended up winning the WWE Tag Team Titles during that era, but in 2014 Bourne left the company.
This is just the latest former WWE superstar to head to Impact Wrestling, as it is currently the home of Aron Wrex (formerly Damian Sandow), Cody Rhodes, and most recently Alberto Del Rio. That shakeup will likely continue as Jeff Jarrett has now merged his Global Force Wrestling with Impact, with several stars (like Cody for instance) hopping back to Impact as a result.
Ironically a number of former TNA superstars have made their way to WWE as well, including AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Eric Young, and Bobby Roode, who is currently enjoying a phenomenal run as NXT champion.
