At the start of the bell, the two combatants went after each other with Owens going after the bad back of Rollins with a two-hit combo of an Irish whip and delivering a senton bomb right on top of him. Owens even went to the lengths of removing Rollins’ medical tape that was aiding in isolating certain muscles for recovery.
Rollins eventually recovered and fought back against the Prizefighter, but his momentum was cut short after Owens tossed him into the Cell walls from inside the ring. It was an impressive feat of strength from Owens that definitely depleted Rollins’ power to come back. Owens was even able to score a Cannonball on Rollins as he was cornered into the Cell.
Seth was able to hit Owens with a suplex on the apron, giving him a taste of his own medicine, but KO was quick to retaliate using a fire extinguisher on Rollins, with the referee getting caught in the eruption.
With the Cell door open, Kevin Owens’ best friend Chris Jericho was able to slide in and with the rules being what they are, Jericho’s involvement is completely legal. Rollins fought off both men in this impromptu handicap match, and actually landed the Pedigree on Jericho. The tide definitely turned as Rollins power bombed Owens through two tables, and would have gotten the three-count, but Jericho pulled the ref away just in time.
Going after Jericho next, Rollins tried to do his best to remove the threat of Owens’ partner, and power bombed Y2J into the walls of the Cell…all the while Owens was recovering. It seemed that Owens had Rollins dead to rights after a Pop-Up Power Bomb, but the Architect managed to kick out.
Soon it turned into a chair fight with Rollins nailing both Jericho and Owens, but KO power bombed his opponent through two chairs, and landed the pinfall to retain his Universal Championship.
