The Big Guy has been quite busy ever since he parted ways with WWE, and has been using that moniker in his independent engagements and marketing materials. That’s because the Ryback name was a WWE creation, and so he’s not allowed to use that when working with other promotions.
That’s all about to change thanks to the Clark County Court, who has now officially confirmed that Ryan Allen Reeves is now Ryback Allen Reeves (via ProWrestlingSheet). Now that Ryback is his official first name, he can feel free to use the title in any way he deems fit.

“It was one thing that I did not own and I created and I used before my time with WWE,” said Ryback, “And it is something that is associated with my brand, and who I am, that I am very proud of.”
Expect the change to be reflected on Ryback’s website FeedMeMore.com soon, where he has a number of nutritional supplements, apparel, and other branded items on sale.
Ryback left WWE earlier this year for a number of reasons, but mostly for a lack of trust in the company’s vision for him in their plans. After numerous promises from top brass falling through, he decided to go out on his own, something he’s discussed at length on his Conversations with the Big Guy podcast. He supposedly even walked away from a three-year $1.5 million dollar contract, but WWE hasn’t commented either way about those facts.
