All the good stuff happens on Talking Smack! Last night on SmackDown’s post-show, Baron Corbin went into a rage and attacked Sami Zayn. The Underdog from the Underground wasn’t the only victim, however, as The Lone Wolf also struck down an official.

Today, SmackDown commissioner, Shane McMahon suspended Corbin for his actions, saying, “It is never acceptable for an athlete in any sport to put their hands on an official, WWE is no exception. Baron Corbin’s actions on Talking Smack were irresponsible and unprofessional. He has been fined and suspended for one week effectively immediately.”
Take away, for one second, the fact that referees get struck down in nearly every match, ever, the suspension to Corbin could allow for WWE to begin the rumored makeover that is coming his way.

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Baron Corbin’s big push is scheduled for later this year, as he is expected to feud with Randy Orton. It is unknown at the time whether or not the Orton vs Corbin feud will be for the WWE Title, as Orton first will be facing Jinder Mahal at WWE Backlash in May, but a significant win over the 13 time World Champion would go a long way towards cementing his status at the top of the card.
The Observer report also noted there have been talks of changing Corbin’s character, possibly with new music, and WWE officials are evaluating other ways they can revamp Corbin’s character before his program with Randy Orton.
