Finn Jones Talks Fighting In Marvel's Iron Fist

New York Comic Con delivered plenty of Iron Fist goodies to fans who've been waiting for updates on the series. The much-anticipated show dropped an action-packed trailer for attendees to watch, showing fans how deadly Danny Rand's fist can be. ComicBook.com has been in NYC all weekend to bring you all the latest news, and our own Kofi Outlaw had a chance to nab some time with Iron Fist's Finn Jones.

During a roundtable Q&A, Jones took a moment to speak about the show's fight sequences and stunt work. After all, Marvel's Netflix series are known for their ultra violent, bloody battles - and Iron Fist will be no different.

"There's all sorts," Jones said, referring to the type of fighting scene on Iron Fist. "There's Kung Fu, wushu, dragon, tiger, monkey; there's so many different forms of martial arts that we're approaching it."

"It takes a martial artist a lifetime to learn this stuff, and I've had a month. It's been really intense, but really fun. The way I approach it is, it's like learning a dance routine. You learn the steps, you get that in your mind and your body, you learn the choreography, and then you add acting on top of it, and all that development, and then you turn up on the day and you just kick ass."

The actor continued, saying that he's doing the stunts he can and learned a lot while shooting. Jones also took a moment to thank his stunt double for a job well-done. "I have a stunt double as well, David Armstrong. He's f**lking amazing."

"He is an incredible martial artist, an incredible human being. Between the two of us, we pick fights up together, and I do as much of the fighting as he does."

As for injuries, Jones said he was thankfully free of any sprains or broken bones. "I'm fine. I'm still alive. I'm still there. My bones are in order."

"I've been lucky, actually. I haven't been hurt," he said. "I put that down to great stunt choreography, good safety measures put in place, and people just knowing what they're doing, and delivering."

After watching the trailer for Iron Fist, you will see just how lucky Jones has been. The show's footage doesn't shy away from Danny Rand and his very powerful fists. The clips also show Colleen Wing, a close ally to Iron Fist, as she kicks butt and takes down men twice her size in cage fights.

In Marvel's Iron Fist, Danny Rand returns to New York City after being missing for years, trying to reconnect with his past and his family legacy. He fights against the criminal element corrupting his world around him with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.

The cast also features Finn Jones ("Game of Thrones") as Daniel Rand/Iron Fist, Jessica Henwick ("Game of Thrones," "Star Wars: The Force Awakens") as Colleen Wing, David Wenham as Harold Meachum, Jessica Stroup ("The Following") as Joy Meachum, and Tom Pelphrey ("Banshee") as Ward Meachum, as well as a guest appearance from Carrie-Anne Moss ("The Matrix") reprising her Jessica Jones role as lawyer Jeri Hogarth
