When it comes to the X-Men, there are hundreds of characters to pull from. The iconic Marvel series is known for its breadth, and FX looks like they are ready to take on the challenging pantheon with a brand-new series. This week, the network confirmed it ordered a pilot for a new X-Men series by Matt Nix. Now, the writer is talking candidly about the developing show, and it seems like X-Men fans will see several familiar faces.

Speaking to CNET, Nix spoke with the site about his entrance into the live-action X-Men world, and the writer was asked about which characters could appear in the series. Here's what Nix had to say:
"I would actually be killed," he said. "They would literally kill me. The only thing that I would say is that it's a...some of those things are slightly up in the air, but the fact that it's a question I can't answer tells you something."
Nix continued, saying, "Suffice it to say it's a show that contains some characters that fans will be excited about. I can't talk about specifics, but it's not like there are no X-Men in it."
Before now, X-Men fans were still unsure if any of the franchise's mutants would make it into the series. Reports had shared that the show would focus on a family with a young mutant child, but it looks like the untitled show will also dip into more complex X-Men lore. After all, fans do already know that Marvel's feared Sentinels will make an appearance in the series, so it only makes sense that some of Professor Xavier's comrades and acquaintances make a much-anticipated cameo. Or, if fans are lucky, a leading role.

Legion premieres on Feb. 8, 2017, at 10 p.m. ET on FX.
