Thanos coming to the big screen in a major role. Tony Stark fighting alongside Drax in the same scene. The Guardians of the Galaxy coming to Earth. We didn't really need any more reasons to get excited about Avengers: Infinity War when it drops next year, did we?

But thanks to one of the best composers in the industry, the hype for Infinity War is real. According to Alan Silvestri, the composer set to score Infinity War, the movie is "everything we could have hoped for."

The composer made the comment while accepting the Icon Award at the annual Film, TV and Visual-Media Awards of Broadcast Music Inc., just after having admitted he had already seen some footage from the Infinity War set.

"I'm still interested in music. I'm still smitten by the development of technology in our business, and what it has provided in terms of possibilities to find new sounds and new ways to bring organized musical content to our work," Silvestri, 67, said. "I'm still enthusiastic. All the elements of film composing are still fascinating and motivating for me."

When Infinity War premieres next year, it won't have been Silvetri's first rodeo with Marvel Studios. The composer scored both Captain America: The First Avenger and Marvel's The Avengers.

Outside of the superhero genre, the Oscar-nominated Silvestri (Forests Gump) won a Grammy for his work on Cast Away as well as an Emmy for the docuseries Cosmos. He's also responsible for scoring pop culture hits such as Back to the Future and Who framed Roger Rabbit.

Avengers: Infinity War is described by Marvel Studios as the culmination of everything in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Iron Man in 2008. The movie is filming now under directors Anthony and Joe Russo, from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

The expansive confirmed cast includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bethany, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Pom Klementieff, and Josh Brolin as the villain Thanos. Avengers: Infinity War and its as-yet-untitled sequel are filming back-to-back for a May 4, 2018 and May 3, 2019 release, respectively.
