Captain America: Civil War Is Now Streaming On Netflix

At 3 A.M. eastern time today, Captain America: Civil War became available to stream on Netflix — the home of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and the upcoming Iron Fist — for the very first time! If you're already a subscriber or a trialist, click here to begin watching it ad nauseam.

When Marvel's Captain America: Civil War opened in May, it debuted at #1 — making it the the 13th consecutive film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to do so — with $179.1 million, which is the fifth-biggest domestic opening of all time. Overall, it earned $1.15 billion at the worldwide box office and is currently the highest-grossing film of 2016.

Audiences awarded Civil War with an 'A' CinemaScore and top crtics on Rotten Tomatoes gave it an impressive 89% "fresh" rating. Everyone loved it!

Well, maybe not everyone. Mark Millar, the award-winning comic book writer that penned the comic book mini-series the film is loosely-based on, wasn't impressed. He enjoyed the first twenty-minutes, but from there on out, he lost interest in its bleak story.

Marvel's Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the newly-formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity, but after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark's surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.

The film stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Emily VanCamp, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd and Frank Grillo, William Hurt and Daniel Brühl.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and produced by Kevin Feige. Louis D'Esposito, Alan Fine, Victoria Alonso, Patricia Whitcher, Nate Moore and Stan Lee served as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.
