Hosting Saturday Night Live can be a nerve wracking experience for anyone, but it's especially difficult when you're hosting for the very time and your episode happens to be the first of the new year. However, a Tina Fey hologram — an homage to Carrie Fisher's memorable Princess Leia scene in 1977's Star Wars — dropped by to offer Felicity Jones some sage advice about hosting the sketch comedy program.
"I've been in several films this year, but I'm here tonight because of an indie movie I'm in called Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," Jones said to begin her monologue. "I play Jyn Erso. It's very cool to be the lead in the film, especially as a woman. I didn't get to use a lightsaber in the movie, but I did get to transfer a very large data file, so all's very exciting. Watch out for my action figure which comes complete with a Dropbox account. Rogue One is the first of several spinoffs within the Star Wars universe. There's an upcoming movie about young Han Solo, and also the first NC-17 Star Wars movie: The Force Arouses."
As she admitted to being nervous, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story character Saw Gerrera (played by Kenan Thompson) joined her on stage and, after a few jokes, put a hologram device on the ground. Fey then materializes and calms Jones' nerves somewhat by telling her: "If Steven Seagal can do it, so can you."

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is in theaters now. Directed by Gareth Edwards, it's the first of the new standalone features from Lucasfilm and Disney, which take place outside the core "Skywalker Saga" of films noted by an Episode number. Rogue One tells the story of the small band of rebels that were tasked with stealing the plans to the first Death Star. The story spins directly off the opening crawl from the original Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. In that crawl, it read: "Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire. During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire's ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet."
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, directed by Gareth Edwards, is in theaters now.
