It may have been 15 years since the last Austin Powers movie was released, and 20 since the first film hit theaters, but Mike Myers and Jay Roach have some thoughts about the franchise that are shagadlic, baby!

While talking about the history of the storied comedy franchise, and discussing how the first Austin Powers came to be, the director and star revealed that they are both considering the possibility of a fourth film.

Roach, who directed all three Austin Powers movies, said that the creative team has been discussing another sequel for quite a while.

We have talked about [making a fourth movie] for 15 years. We have also always said we don't want to do it unless we came up with something that lived up to the concepts in our mind. Until Mike feels like he has a concept that earns a fourth, it won't happen. But if it did, we have all agreed that we would be delighted to get back into it.

Austin Powers himself, Mike Myers, also expressed interest in bringing the franchise back for another round. He has his reservations though, as he wants to make sure it's done the right way.

I would love to do another, but you just have to see. I was devastated by my father's death. But to have that turn into something that makes people happy is unbelievably satisfying. It's that kind of stuff you never get used to or get tired of.

Now that we're living in the time of sequels and reboots, a new Austin Powers seems more likely than ever. Hopefully, these guys can find away to bring the hilarious spy back for one final mission.
