For Honor may have launched to impressive sales, but the online brawler soon hit choppy waters. Ubisoft has done their best to clean up their mess, improving online connectivity, banning cheaters, toning down microtransactions, and releasing additional content, and it seems to have had some positive effect. With a lot of basic problems now cleared up, Ubisoft is free to move on to more specific issues.

For Honor players have been complaining about rage quitting right from the beginning, but Ubisoft couldn't do much about it. The game's network instability meant honest players also dropped out of games frequently, through no fault of their own. Now that random disconnections are less frequent, Ubisoft can start punishing those who do it on purpose.

During the mostly recent Warrior's Den Weekly livestream (helpfully summarized by Tiff92 on Reddit), the developers of For Honor pledged the game's next patch will implement penalties for quitting. They also promised the new feature won't ensnare honest players, as the game will be able to tell whether a player disappeared because they got disconnected from the server or intentionally shut down the game by pressing Alt+F4. Hopefully the new system works without any snafus, although given Ubisoft's track record, I'll believe it when I see it.

In addition to the new quitting penalties, Ubisoft is promising the next patch will include colorblind options for those struggling with the game's point capture mode, and a fix for the reflex guard bug, which causes your guard to not activate in the right direction under certain circumstances. Sounds like Ubisoft is really hunkering down and dealing with some top fan complaints with this patch, which should arrive on PC sometime next week, and consoles shortly thereafter.

For Honor is currently available on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. You can check out all WWG's latest coverage of the game here, and our back catalog of stories, right here.
