Marvel's Inhumans Star Reveals How Closely It Adheres To The Comics

Marvel Studios may have a full movie plate weighing it down, but the juggernaut isn't slowing its place. The Marvel Cinematic Universe plans to continue its growth with upcoming TV shows, and the Inhumans are poised to expand the franchise greatly. The hybrid series will introduce MCU diehards to one of Marvel's lesser-known superhero families. And, now, one of the show's stars is detailing how closely the show aligns with its comics.
Speaking with CinemaBlend, Henry Ian Cusick opened up about how nit-picky Marvel has been about the Inhumans series. The LOST star was asked how much the show will adhere to its source material, and Cusick said he believed Marvel's show relies on its canon.
"I don't know all of the comics obviously, but faithful in the sense that the main characters are like the characters in the comics, yes, absolutely," Cusick revealed.
"If you want to go into the nitty gritty, I don't know the comics well enough to say but I would imagine so, because we had a lot of Marvel executives on set and a lot of Marvel people saying, 'Oh no, you're doing that wrong. This is how it is.' You know, little things... that people in the Marvel universe know about, about how you would hold certain things, about how certain things appear in other Marvel shows or something. [They] said, 'Oh, no, no, no, you have to do it this way.' So we have those executives on set, so I'm hoping that they are faithful to the comics so that the fans enjoy the show."
Judging by Cusick's words, Inhumans may not adapt a preexisting comic run by the book, but it will capture its characters' essences. New people will also be added to the series as Cusick himself is playing an original character. The Inhumans royal family will stand in as the show's main cast thanks to heroes like Black Bolt and Medusa.
