The forthcoming film in the Star Wars saga is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Director Rian Johnson has the daunting task of following up the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens with a story set to explore the Skywalker legacy even further.
While fans eagerly await any and every detail regarding Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Lucasfilm has kept a lot of the film’s plot under wraps. After the first teaser dropped, some new information was finally unveiled accompanied by a stunning photo spread by Annie Leibovitz in Vanity Fair.

But while the world famous photographer was taking her own shots, so too were Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and her daughter Meghan Marshall.

The shots show a master of the craft hard at work, providing small glimpses into the effort required to stage those beautiful photographs. One picture also provides another intimate look at the onscreen siblings played by Mark Hamill and the late Carrie Fisher.
That picture is a harsh reminder of the immense talent lost last year, whose final film performance can be seen when Star Wars: The Last Jedi releases in theaters on December 15.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the second film in the new Star Wars sequel trilogy that began with Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015. The film will deal with Luke training Rey to become a, and possibly the last, Jedi. Meanwhile, the Resistance, including Poe Dameron and First Order defector Finn, continues to fight against the First Order, led by General Hux, while Supreme Leader Snoke and his Dark Side follower Kylo Ren continue their mysterious plot.
