A lot of developers put a painstaking amount of effort into their games – and Naughty Dog is no exception to the rule. The team did a slam-bang job with last year's Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, and will likely repeat the feat this August with Uncharted: The Last Legacy when it arrives for PlayStation 4.

But it really goes the extra mile, something we recently learned with a recent motion capture session for the forthcoming The Last of Us Part II, which was announced last December during the PlayStation Experience event. The game's director, Neil Druckmann, showed just how much effort the team is putting into motion capture by posting a recent picture of one of its subjects. No, it's not an actor – it's an adorable little piggy!

"Today's mocap session is off to a great start," Druckmann noted, including an up-close photo for good measure. You can see it below.

On top of that, the game's writer, Hailey Gross, decided to go the extra mile and include a video of the pig in action, taking the time to feed it and take care of it. It's the most adorable thing in the world, which is a bit weird considering the raw nature of something like The Last of Us Part II. You can view it below. She even added, "Guys guys guys guys guys!" to emphasize the adorableness of it all.

That's quite an interesting motion capture get-up that the pig is wearing, but no doubt it'll play a crucial part at some point in the story – or, at least we think it will.

The team has posted a number of shots from the motion capture sessions of the game, featuring actors like Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, reprising their roles from the original The Last of Us, as well as newcomer Shannon Woodward (of Westworld fame), who's flipping a machete a little too well, according to Druckmann. "I'm a little uncomfortable with the ease that @shannonwoodward took to that machete." You can view that fun little video below.

The Last of Us Part II currently doesn't have a release date, but it's expected to arrive for PlayStation 4.
