As Captain Marvel takes place in the 1990s, Nick Fury will be appearing in the film without his traditional eye patch as it was revealed that at this point in the timeline, he had full use of both eyes.
After being a heavy player in the early part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Fury is a character that hasn’t been seen since Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015 and even then, he had two very short parts.
According to previous reports, Jackson will travel to Atlanta to begin filming his parts of Captain Marvel on January 8, 2018.
Although the MCU’s first property starring Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) doesn’t debut until 2019, there have been additional reports stating that Fury would have a brief part in next year’s gigantic blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming are both in theaters now, and will be followed by Thor: Ragnarok on November 3, 2017. After that Black Panther debuts on February 16, 2018, while Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4, 2018. Ant-Man and the Wasp is slated for July 6, 2018, followed by Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019.
