Good news, everyone! We now know when the next set of Injustice 2 fighters — including Black Manta — join the fray.

In the early AM we were pleasantly surprised to wake up to the reveal of our next three DLC fighters, who will be joining the Injustice 2 roster very soon. If you missed the Fighter Pack 2 reveal trailer, then check it out above and get caught up.
Hell yeah, right?! Black Manta, Raiden, and Hellboy are all on the way. There’s a little detail at the end of the trailer that you may have missed, though. If you wait patiently for the very end of the trailer, when all three characters are standing together, you’ll see a mysterious message appear that has everyone talking. NetherRealm actually made a mistake, a typo, at the end of its trailer, and we’re pretty sure that a gameplay reveal is right around the corner for Black Manta, with an official character launch not too long thereafter. Let me show you the evidence.
Gameplay Reveal and Fighter Pack 2 Release Date
At the very end of the Fighter Pack 2 reveal trailer, you’ll see the following message displayed on the screen as all three characters stand together: “Worldwide gameplay reveal of Black Manta Sunday May 27 at 4PM PST.” There are two possibilities here. Either we’re going to be waiting a long time for May 27, 2018 to roll around so we can see Black Manta in action, or else an editor forgot to swap the month out from May’s Fighter Pack 1 reveal trailer. This coming Sunday is August 27th, and we’re pretty sure that was meant to be the date at the end of the trailer.
Now, in the official press release from NetherRealm we find the following statement: “Fighter Pack #2 will be available for purchase beginning September 12, 2017, and the first character will be available for early access the same day.” They don’t tell us who the first character will be, but if a Black Manta gameplay reveal is on the way, which according to the Fighter Pack 2 trailer it is, then we can safely assume that Black Manta will be the first character released.
NetherRealm always shows off gameplay footage of its new DLC characters one at a time, and always right before they’re released. Also, if you head over to to the Injustice 2ย Twitter account, you’ll see this image very briefly before the Fighter Pack 2 trailer begins:
