By the end of January, Netflix fans will have a brand-new season of Voltron: Legendary Defender to binge. Last month, fans learned the animated series would make a comeback with Season 2 on January 20th, and its trailer left fans thrilled. The footage showed the Voltron Force touch base with the new season’s main baddie Emperor Zarkon, and the dangerous clip had fans worried over fan-favorite characters like Shiro and Keith. Now, a brand-new clip from the new season of Voltron has been released, and it is far more lighthearted than any footage fans have seen to date.

In the clip, fans find Allura and Coran stuck in a runaway spacecraft that is in the clutches of a gaping wormhole. The Altean princess and her retainer run into problem after problem. The ship won’t accept coordinates, the wormhole’s gravity cannot be overtaken, and Coran finds himself aging backwards as they grow closer to the anomaly.

Speaking with ComicBook.com at New York Comic Con, Voltron writer Tim Hendrick said the new season would explore the show’s characters the franchise’s. He also mentioned the show would see the Voltron Force travel through the galaxy and encounter brand-new lifeforms.
Created in 2016, the first season of Voltron: Legendary Defender hit Netflix and received praise from both fans and critics. The series was adapted from the anime Beast King GoLion and the American Voltron franchise. A blend of western animation and eastern anime, Voltron thrilled fans with its CGI artwork and action sequences.
Voltron: Legendary Defender is a reboot of the popular 1980s cartoon series, which focused on a group of pilots flying giant mechanical lions defending their planet from evil alien forces. The new series is produced by Dreamworks and is executive produced by Joaquim Dos Santos and Lauren Montgomery, both of which worked on the popular Avatar: Legend of Korra cartoon series.
The voice cast for Voltron: Legendary Defender includes The Walking Dead’s Steven Yuen, Adventure Time’s Jeremy Shada, The Spectacular Spider-Man’s Josh Keaton, and The Killing’s Bex Taylor-Klaus.
Voltron Season 2 will debut on January 20 on Netflix.
