After a lengthy wait, Attack on Titan returned this year with its second season, and the series just aired its comeback anticipated finale. The anime’s new season ended on a high point as Eren Yeager confronted the Smiling Titan which killed his mother so many years ago, and the Survey Corps managed to take back the soldier after Reiner and Bertholt kidnapped him. The finale also saw the split-second introduction of one important character, and the reveal has got manga readers feeling rather excited.
In the final moments of Attack on Titan‘s recent finale, fans watched as a shot of the Beast Titan came into focus. The massive creature was seen sitting a top of a wall, but its hulking frame looked dead. Fans then watched as a man popped out from the behind the Titan’s neck, leaving fans with their first-look at the Titan Shifter responsible for the horrifying villain. The shadowy figure was seen standing shirtless on the Beast Titan’s smoking back, and his circular glasses glinted in the sun.
“Not yet, eh?” the character said to himself as a new horde of Titans made their way towards Paradis’ walls. Before any further introductions could be made, Attack on Titan cut away, a fact which has only incensed anime-only fans.
However, if you are familiar with the Attack on Titan manga, then you will know just who that man is. The person is none other than Zeke Yeager, the older half-brother of Eren. The two men share the same father, and Zeke stands as the top soldier of Marley as an Eldian warchief. Known for his intellect and strength, Reiner considers Zeke to be the strongest of all soldiers in Marley, and the older man’s Beast Titan persona is not one to be messed with.
When it comes to Attack on Titan, Zeke stands as one of the story’s main antagonists. The soldier is tasked with retrieving the Coordinate from Paradis, a powerful item which can control all Titans and unlock their true potential. Attack on Titan‘s confirmed third season will no doubt explore the man’s origins further as the Survey Corps learns more about how the Beast Titan works. And, for Eren, that means the boy will be in for one rude family reunion at some point.
