Attack on Titan might be over in both its manga and anime adaptation, but it’s hard to keep the Scout Regiment down completely. The anime legacy left by Eren Jaeger and his comrades has remained for years, and it’s sure to stick around for years more. Luckily, this fact means that the Titans and those that fight them continue to appear in some unexpected ways. This fall, the series born from creator Hajime Isayama will be teaming up with Japan for the World Athletics Championship and has some new images and merchandise to prove it.

For those unfamiliar with the World Athletics Championships, the bi-annual event first began in 1983, originating due to the original Olympics dropping the “men’s 50 kilometer race” in 1976. Ever since, the games have been making their way around the world, with this year’s slated to arrive in Tokyo, Japan. Leaping at the opportunity, as shown by TBS Athletics’ official X account, Attack on Titan is creating special merchandise for the event. Despite sports references being few and far between in the war between Paradis and Marley, seeing the Survey Corps return is always welcome.
The description of the upcoming collaboration reads, “Attack on Titan x World Athletics Championships Tokyo 2025 – To celebrate the 2025 World Athletics Championships, collaboration goods between the IAAF World Championships and the TV anime Attack on Titan will be released! This special project features original illustrations of Eren, Mikasa, Levi, Hange & ArmourTitan, full of a sense of speed, inspired by athletes who continue to challenge the limits of humanity. Collaboration goods will be released to commemorate the opening of the Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Championships on September 13th! Some products are scheduled to go on sale in stores from Saturday, the 30th!” You can check out the preview for the wild collaboration below.
Attack on Titan: The End Is The Beginning

While Attack on Titan might have ended in a way that set the stage for the Titans’ return, Hajime Isayama hasn’t confirmed his anime universe is returning. The final scene, which sees a young character in a far-off future stumbling upon Eren Jaeger’s burial site, might mean that the Titan cycle is set to start once again, but it almost acts more as a metaphor than anything else. Luckily, Isayama has been more than willing to return to the franchise with new short stories, such as Attack on Titan: Bad Boy. While this side tale didn’t focus on the future, it gave readers a better understanding of Levi’s past.
As for Isayama himself, he has yet to announce any new manga series. In the past, the Attack on Titan creator has gone on record to state that his dream was opening his own sauna. While the Scout Regiment-themed sauna hasn’t opened, we have seen the anime franchise team up with establishments in the past.
