Live-action adaptations derived from anime have always been a hot topic, especially as the majority of them are horrible. However, for some reason, the live-action plays are successes, with Naruto’s live-action play being a great example of that success. That is why Blue Exorcist fans are excited to see their new live-action play, which is set to make its debut in Tokyo on the 20th of October.

In addition, the official website for Ao no Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati-hen, has released a new key visual, which has only raised fans excitement further.
This new live-action play will showcase the Illuminati arc from Kato’s original manga. That means the play will be about Lucifer, the leader of the Illuminati, attempting to resurrect Satan, as well as unite Assiah and Gehenna. As a result, Lucifer declares war on the True Cross Oder, with Lucifer kidnapping Izumo and Yukio leading the rescue team.
Blue Exorcist’s manga, which is written by Kazue Kato, has been appearing regularly in Weekly Shonen Jump since 2009 and has ha 19 volumes. Meanwhile, the manga has inspired two animated series’ and an animated film, before now having its own live-action play. The play will run at Tokyo’s Zepp Blue Theater Roppongi from the 20th to the 29th of October and then again at Kobe’s Shinkobe Oriental Theater from November 2nd to the 5th.
