'Blue Exorcist' Creator Gives 'Star Wars' A Go

Star Wars helped ring in the winter holidays, but fans of the franchise keep coming back for more. Lucasfilm saw its latest film debut back in December, and The Last Jedi enamored one famous artist over in Japan. So, it only makes sense for Kazue Kato to give its stars a sketch.

Over on Twitter, the creator of Blue Exorcist surprised fans with a stunning sketch of his. Kato wrote a short message telling fans she went to see Star Wars: The Last Jedi and stayed up until midnight to draw sketches of it.

As you can see below, the first drawing Kato did houses The Last Jedi's main characters. An aged Luke Skywalker is seen standing behind Rey as the younger girl wields a blue lightsaber. Leia is shown beside her brother as she looks over her shoulder to her son Kylo Ren. The fallen Jedi is seen standing back to back with Rey, and his messy black hair manages to cover up part of his iconic red saber.

The quartet wasn't the only thing Kato took away from Star Wars. The manga artist also penned a drawing of Poe Dameron and his adorable droid BB8. The two can be seen cuddling as Poe holds his droid close to his chest, and the pilot looks pretty happy to see his friend.

"I had a lot of characters I wanted to draw, and I was in trouble," Kato tweeted.

If you are not familiar with Kato's most famous work, then you need to catch up. Blue Exorcist debuted under Jump SQ back in April 2009. The series follows a boy named Rin Okumura and his twin brother Yukio. The pair live normal lives before they learn they are the sons of Satan, and Rin was the one to inherit his father's power. When the devil comes to take his children back, Rin starts attending True Cross Academy to become an exorcist, and he finds himself learning under Yukio's expert hand.
