Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Gets Disappointing Streaming Update

Itโ€™s been almost a year since the first installment of theย Demon Slayer: Infinity Castleย trilogy was released. The film was originally released in Japan in July 2025 before making an internal debut in September of the same year. However, the film keeps returning to the theaters with special re-releases, pushing back the streaming date. Not to mention that fans are also awaiting updates on the second part of the film, which will continue the fight against the Hashira. The official X handle of the anime confirmed a one-day screening on June 12th, 2026, in Japan. The anime held screenings in Japan for several months continuously and keeps returning every few weeks. Thanks to the explosive success of the film, fans often revisit the theaters to watch the thrilling action on the big screen. However, the consecutive screening is a major reason behind the delay in the global streaming date.

Chainsaw Man โ€“ The Movie: Reze Arc, based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga, was originally released in Japan in September 2025 and began streaming on Crunchyroll last month despite the box office success. Unfortunately, Demon Slayer plans to disappoint fans even further during this year’s Anime Expo since it’s not planning on sharing any information on Part 2. The anime will be taking the stage during the Expo, but it’s just a celebratory event to commemorate the film’s historic success. The voice actors will be present during the event, so regardless of the lack of updates, it’s going to be exciting for the attendees.

The Infinity Castle is the longest arc in the series, which focuses on the final battle against the Upper Moons. While Muzan Kibutsuji is trying to nullify the effects of the drug Tamayo injected into him, the Demon Slayers are forced inside the Infinity Castle, where all the demons in Japan have been gathered. As the slayers navigate the endless labyrinth, several of them encounter the Upper Moons, the most powerful demons after Muzan. The first part of the film already featured three major fights, but the threat of the demons is far from over.

The Upper Ranks One and Two are still alive, and even the Hashira are powerless against them. While Kokushibo has yet to enter the battlefield, Doma faced off against Kanao after killing Shinobu Kocho. The second part will wrap up his fight against Kanao, who witnessed the horrifying death of her sister Shinobu. Not only that, Nakime, the newly appointed Upper Rank Four, is the main target of the Corps since her Blood Demon Art created the Infinity Castle.

She sees everything happening within the castle and bends the layout to her will. The Demon Slayers are trapped in Muzanโ€™s stronghold with no means of escaping unless the Biwa Demon is brought down. Even after defeating the Upper Moons, the tired and battered Demon Slayers will still have to face off against the demon progenitor and find a way to end his reign of terror that has been ongoing for over a thousand years.
