With things heating up in the Tournament of Power, Dragon Ball Super fans have been eagerly anticipating some epic battles leading up to the milestone moment that Goku will unveil a new transformation!

As always, fans eager for any teases or spoilers for upcoming episodes of the DBS English sub, which has led to a lot of teaser scans and episode details hitting the Web. However, after we actually got to see the events of the latest episode (107), it seems that these Dragon Ball Super synopses may not be the informative leaks the seem like…

Anime fans like Ken Xyro have dropped quite a few spoilery DBS synopses latetly, but the one about Frost’s battle against Master Roshi and Vegeta seemed to hint that both Universe 6 and 7 would have equal number of fighters by end of the episode. However, with Roshi now out, Universe 7 only has seven combatants left, while it’s made clear that Universe 6 still has eight (including some surprise Namekians). So, are these synopses intentionally misleading fans, or is it something else entirely?

Bad Descriptions

The most common error is likely the culprit here: something got lost in translation.ย

With scans and episode synopsesย originating in Japan, there’s also the risk that translations from eager animeย scoop hunters or fans will come back with slight errors that cause much bigger interpretive issues. In this case, a rundown of fighter numbers for Universe’s 6 and 7 may have just been off by one.ย

Either way, if that’s true, the rest of the scans and synopses for this portion of the Universal Survival saga will be a lot more suspect, going forward. It’s would be prudent for fans to remain skeptical, in general, as there could be some important semantics at play here…

Frost Fusion Factor

There could be a big sleight of hand happening here, when you consider what could be coming next forย Frost. Right now, Frost rounds out Universe 6’s team at eight, but as previews for episode 108 show, Frost will be battling Gohanย – with a little help from Freeza!ย

Yes,ย Dragon Ball Superย fans have been expecting Freezaย to betray Frostย for some time now – it’s really just a question of how, exactly, the change in their alliance will manifest.

On the one hand, Freezaย could eliminate Frost – or allow his ally to fall in battle against Gohan. A loss for the Universe 6 team only improves the chances for Universe 7, and it should be remembered that Freeza’sย main goal in the tournament is victory in exchange for the Super Dragon Balls that can resurrect him. With Frost being a potential equal threat to Freeza, getting him out of the way would also increase the latter’sย chances at winning future matchups.ย

There’s also another fan theory: Frost and Freezaย will fuse! By our count, this could happen one of two ways:ย

  1. Freezaย and Frost use any one of the established fusion methodsย to merge into an all-powerful new form.
  2. Freezaย somehow betrays Frost and absorbs his power and/or life-force by force.

In either case, the number of Universe 6 fighters would drop to seven with Frost’s fusion/elimination at Freeza’sย hands, making Universe 6 and 7 equal at seven fighters.ย

That’s all just theory, but the Freeza/Frost alliance has been building to something, and seeing Freezaย fuse would definitely be exciting payoff.ย

Dragon Ball Superย airs on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST, and Toonami airs the English dub on Adult Swim Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.
