Dragon Ball Super fans have been counting down the anime‘s next episode for awhile now. The show is set to debut a one-hour special this weekend which will show Goku fight Jiren and unlock a strange new transformation. However, fans have much more to look forward to after the double-feature passes. A new synopsis for Dragon Ball Super‘s 111th episode is out, and it reveals more about the hero’s new form.
Weekly Shonen Jump‘s newest issue has yet to hit, but it appears a reliable source online leaked its Dragon Ball Super content in Korean. Translator Todd Blankenship turned the new synopsis around for English-speaking fans, and the description sheds light on Goku’s new powers.

“Goku This Week: will he be able to master having his body react on its own?! Goku has been injured head-to-toe by Jiren’s attack! However, immediately before going down, he awakened to a new power called “Mastery of Self-Movement”, where his body reacts on its own! What could this be?!”
According to the early scan, it appears that Goku’s new power has less to do with his Saiyan blood and everything to do with his skill. Fans still aren’t sure whether the anime will categorize Goku’s power-up as a transformation or special technique for now, but long-time fans do know where the upgrade stems from.

As fans will remember, Whis is the one who stressed how Goku’s power was being limited by his thoughts. The attendant told both Goku and Vegeta they could never unlock their full power if they could not battle with their bodies moving without thought. Whis said Beerus is as strong as he is because he has mastered the ability to fight whilst on autopilot essentially.
For Goku, the skill will apparently manifest all at once than by gradual degrees. Previous synopses hinting at Goku’s transformation have said he will experience a ki he has never encountered before, so there may be something in the hero’s Super Saiyan Blue form that allows Goku to fight on automatic.
Fans will also remember that the original tag-line for Dragon Ball Super‘s current arc had to do with the god’s work becoming complete. If Goku is able to achieve the goal Whis set for him during their training, then the Saiyan will have brought the deity’s tutelage full circle.
Jiren: Been There, Done That
Goku’s new technique sounds insane, and it looks like the hero will need every bit of strength he’s got. The new synopsis does confirm the hero gets wiped by Jiren, and the Pride Trooper appears to have already got the whole fighting-without-thought thing down. In past episode, Jiren has been seen dodging debris and attacks in ways which amaze even Goku, so all evidence points to the fighter having already mastered the ability to battle autonomously.
