Along with the new trailer and photo, the band behind the theme song of the movie was revealed today on Gintama’s official Twitter account. The band UVERworld will be performing the opening song for the film, which is titled “Decided”.

The film is directed by Yuichi Fukuda, and will feature the cast of Shun Oguri as Ginoki Sakata, Masaki Suda as Shinpachi Shimura, and Kanna Hashimotoa as Kagura. The official website started streaming a commercial earlier this for the film, and announce the Japanese release date.

The movie is described as follows,

“In a world where aliens have invaded Edo Period Japan, skyscrapers, trains and motor bikes have replaced the simple life of Earth inhabitants. One man however, still carries the soul of a samurai, Gintoki Sakata, otherwise known as Yorozuya Gin-san. As reckless as he is, Gintoki carries his own resolve and is ready to take on any challenge with his fellow companions.”

Created by Sorachi, the Gintama manga made its debut in December 2003. The long-running series is set in an alternate Edo-period where aliens have taken over the world. A young hero named Gintoki leads the story as the freelance samurai does odd jobs for rent money. But, when the hero becomes entangled with one of the planet’s alien invaders, he finds himself thrown into one hilarious episodic adventure.
