After five-plus years of waiting, One-Punch Man fans are finally preparing to see Saitama return to the small screen. The third season will arrive on October 4th this month, promising to continue the fight between the Hero Association and the Monster Association for the future of the world. In the build-up to JC Staff’s return, the production house hasn’t revealed much in the way of animation, so this new One-Punch Man trailer is one that many anime fans have been waiting for. Luckily, the new footage also hints at the returning and new characters joining the fray.

For the season three premiere, things are heating up for our heroes as they continue to fight against the subterranean threats invading their world. Along with the Monster Association’s powerful members, the nefarious collective has “Monster Cells,” aka unique edibles that can transform any human into a monster themselves. For the third season premiere, “Strategy Meeting,” the crime fighters are once again joining forces in the face of a new scheme from the Monster Association. Looking to rescue a young boy whose father has ties with the Hero Association, the heroes are setting out on a dangerous mission, while Fubuki is making an attempt to win over Saitama to join her group. Needless to say, One-Punch Man’s third season is set to hit the ground running.
One-Punch Man’s 10th Anniversary
Alongside the season three premiere, One-Punch Man is planning to celebrate the tenth anniversary of its anime adaptation with a big event. Taking place in Japan next year, the “One-Punch Man 10th Anniversary Exhibition” released a new image to hype the celebration, though details about what the exhibit will entail remain a mystery. As anime fans might recall, the first season was animated by Studio Madhouse with seasons two and three handled by JC Staff. It will be interesting to see if both production houses join forces to celebrate Saitama and his fellow heroes.
As for what we can expect in the third season, it might be worthwhile to revisit what took place in Saitama’s life in the second season finale. When last we left the titular hero, he had managed to defeat another member of the Monster Association with a single punch in the Elder Centipede. Of course, much like the second season finale, the third season will split starring duties between Saitama and the villainous Garou.
Garou, the hero killer, debuted in the anime’s second season with an ax to grind, willing to murder any hero that was unfortunate enough to cross his path. Despite his physical prowess, the villain found himself humbled by Saitama time and time again. Throwing in his lot with the Monster Association in the recent season finale, expect Garou to fight even more heroes and go through bigger changes in the new season arriving later this month.
