The cosmic side of Marvel has been upended thanks to Imperial, the comic event series from Jonathan Hickman, Iban Coello, and Federico Vincentini. Given the nature of it being a huge story about an intergalactic war, one of the best parts about it is that there’s a wealth of characters and locations that are a part of the landscape — and that includes She-Hulk who is about to get an unexpected adventure on a brutal planet all of her own.

After being left on New Sakaar by The Hulk to watch over things, what started as a few days is becoming a much bigger commitment. As it turns out, keeping the peace isn’t exactly easy on a planet at war and now it’s up to Jennifer Walters to get things under control. She’s going to need a lot more than just her brains for this one — she might just need a giant sword.
ComicBook has an exclusive first look at Planet She-Hulk #1 by Stephanie Phillips with art by Aaron Kuder. Planet She-Hulk is a spinoff from Hickman’s Imperial and will see She-Hulk following in her cousin’s footsteps to an extent as she is given the whole planet to keep an eye on. Considering that She-Hulk is a very different kind of hero than Hulk is, readers can expect that things may go very differently for Jennifer — and Sakaar under her control.
Have Sword, Will Rule
While this first look at Planet She-Hulk #1 doesn’t give us a ton of clues as to what Jennifer is going to be dealing with on Sakaar, it’s clear right away that readers can expect a ton of action — as well as threats that see plenty of sword-wielding action. The art below shows She-Hulk doing gladiatorial style battle with a gnarly looking beast that makes her big sword look small. But Jennifer will be getting by on more than her weapons. We also get a glimpse at what looks like a bar fight as well as a foe whose spear appears to be no match for She-Hulk.

Here’s how Marvel describes Planet She-Hulk #1: “Sakaar, party of one! She-Hulk is back, and she’s… stuck on Sakaar?? Spinning out of Jonathan Hickman’s hit cosmic epic, Imperial, Jennifer Walters made a promise to her cousin, Hulk, to watch over the planet Sakaar and its people for a few days. But it’s been longer than a few days, and now She-Hulk is in charge of keeping the peace on a planet at war! But Jennifer is a very different Hulk than the one that once smashed Sakaar into submission… is she up for the task?”
Planet She-Hulk #1 goes on sale November 5th.
