The fifth season of Arrow has been one the series’ best, so far, and many fans of the show are attributing its rebirth — after a less than stellar fourth season — to the shelving of the Olicity storyline. Of course, the loyal and invested Olicity fanbase isn’t happy about it, but as Stephen Amell said a few weeks ago, “You don’t always get what you want.” Heck, even showrunner Marc Guggenheim said he regretted how the Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak’s relationship unfolded at an unnatural pace last season.

This past weekend, during the Arrow panel at the CCXP convention in Brazil, David Ramsey was asked to chime in on Olicity. “For me, I like the idea of Felicity not defining herself through her relationship with a man,” Ramsey told the crowd. “I like the idea that she can be her own person, and she can be strong and feminine, own the company, without pining over men — Oliver or any other man.”
PROMETHEUS MAKES A DEADLY MOVE AGAINST OLIVER AND THE TEAM — After Prometheus attacks Curtis (Echo Kellum), Oliver (Stephen Amell) realizes Prometheus knows all of Team Arrow’s secret identities and is planning to come for them one by one. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and Detective Malone (guest star Tyler Ritter) discover a clue that links Prometheus to Oliver’s past.
Antonio Negret directed the episode written by Wendy Mericle & Beth Schwartz.
