Batman And Batgirl's Relationship Revealed For Batman: The Killing Joke

SPOILERS FOLLOW FOR THE KILLING JOKE MOVIE. DO NOT READ ON IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED.

The Killing Joke animated adaptation will include some extracirricular activity between Batman and Batgirl. Several clips from DC's newest animated film confirm that Batman and Batgirl will have a physical relationship in the movie. The first clip actually shows the two superheroes in the act, so to speak, with Batgirl removing her shirt and mask after Batman reluctantly grabs her butt.

The second clip, which was leaked on YouTube, shows a tense phone conversation between Batman and Batgirl in which Batgirl confirms the off-camera activities by shouting "Bruce, it was just sex for god's sake."

Although the romantic angle is clearly designed to give Batman extra motivation to hunt down the Joker after he shoots and paralyzes Batgirl later in the story, the angle is sure to give most Batgirl fans even more reason to avoid watching The Killing Joke.

Of course, this isn't the first time fans have seen a Batman/Batgirl relationship in a cartoon. Batman Beyond strongly hinted at a failed past relationship between Batman and Batgirl. A 2014 comic continuation of that series not only confirmed that Batman and Batgirl once had a physical relationship, it revealed that Batman impregnated Batgirl while she was dating Dick Grayson. Batgirl had a miscarriage after getting punched while stopping a robbery, and Grayson ended up beating the snot out of Batman for...well, you know.

Anyways, DC is screening The Killing Joke tonight at SDCC, so we'll have more of a reaction then.
