DC Comics has provided ComicBook.com with an exclusive first look at the variant covers for several comics releasing as part of the new Young Animal line in October.
Duncan Fegredo and Tula Lotay each provide a variant cover for Shade, The Changing Girl #1. Fegredo was a regular artist on the Shade, The Changing Man series, to which Shade, The Changing Girl is a spiritual successor. The new series is written by Cecil Castellucci with art by Marley Zarcone.
Bill Sienkiewicz and Matt & Brennan Wagner provide variant covers for Cave Carson Has a Cybernetic Eye #1. The new series from writers Gerard Way and Jon Rivera and artist Michael Avon Oeming follows the new escapades of a retired and widowed adventure hero who is being dragged back into his old life.
Mike and Laura Allred created the variant cover for Doom Patrol #2, continuing the adventure of DC Comics cult favorite and weirdest superhero team. The new series is written by Gerard way and illustrated by Nick Derington.

Young Animal is the new mature readers imprint that DC Comics announced at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2016. The line is being overseen by Gerard Way, the musician, and creator of The Umbrella Academy. Way has described the new imprint as “comics for dangerous humans.” The imprint’s initial comic book lineup consists of Shade, The Changing Girl, Cave Carson Has a Cybernetic Eye, Doom Patrol and Mother Panic.
