Arthur Darvill, who plays Rip Hunter on The CW series, recently shared a photo of him standing alongside a statue of an angel. For fans of one of Arthur’s previous works, Doctor Who, that takes a whole other meaning – as it looks a lot like a Weeping Angel. You can check out the photo below.

For the uninitiated, the Weeping Angels are a race of deadly Who villains, who feast on their victims’ ‘time energy’. The angels are known for their unique ‘quantum lock’, which means they are forced to freeze in place if they are being observed by somebody.
Rory Williams, Darvill’s Doctor Who character, actually exited the show at the hands of the Weeping Angels, making Darvill’s tweet even more ironic. BBC America even pointed out the amusing nature of his tweeting, quoting the catchphrase many Who characters used to help defeat the angels.

While it’s safe to assume that Legends won’t be including Weeping Angels, the episode that is currently filming, ‘Return of the Mack’, promises to be pretty deadly. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim recently shared a photo of the script’s title page, which was splattered with blood.
Legends of Tomorrow returns to Tuesday nights at 9 p.m., following new episodes of The Flash, in October.
Once reunited, the Legends will challenge the Time Bureau’s authority over the timeline and insist that however messy their methods may be, some problems are beyond the Bureau’s capabilities. Some problems can only be fixed by Legends.
