After Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) decided to disband the Legends, we quickly saw what each team member had been doing in the months since. For Nate Heywood/Steel (Nick Zano), that meant returning to Central City – and helping The Flash‘s Wally West/Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale).
Once Nate reunites with some of his Legends team members, he explains that he’s been serving as the second most popular superhero in Central City. While it’s never officially stated, it appears that Nate served as a temporary member of Team Flash, at least on one or two occasions.
So what does that mean for The Flash? If anything, it provides further context for what happened in between Season 3 and Season 4. With the team losing a few members – Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin) and Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) – during those stretches of time, Nate helping out is certainly worth noting.
And in terms of Legends of Tomorrow, the mini crossover mainly further connects the time-hopping series to the present day Arrowverse timeline. It also makes Nate’s bond with Team Flash – something that will be on full display during the upcoming crossover – much stronger.
Legends of Tomorrow airs on The CW on October 10th, at 9/8c, following new episodes of The Flash.
