When Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill sat down for an interview after the first batch of negative reviews for Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice came out, Cavill masked his disappointment exceptionally well, but his co-star did not. Affleck appeared to be sad and despondent.
YouTube user Sabconth then took the footage and added Simon & Garfunkel's melancholy folk song "Sound of Silence" and a slow zoom-in on Affleck's unhappy mug. And that is how the "Sad Affleck" was born.
In a recent interview with People, Outlander star Sam Heughan, asked the interviewer — who was happy to oblige — if he and his co-star Caitriona Balfe could have some cheeky fun by recreating "Sad Affleck."
Check out Heughan's impression of the internet meme in the video below.
In Batman v. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before.
