While interacting with some fans on Twitter, Jenkins was asked about her favorite Wonder Woman storylines, and the director didn't hesitate. In fact, she gave an answer that most fans of the character will likely agree with.
She revealed that her favorite storyline was the original Wonder Woman run, written by William Marston. She also really loves the New 52 run of the character, citing the story of Diana leaving the island and.
@uxxenterprise @WonderWomanFilm @GalGadot @CNconnienielsen The original run, with all its nuances. I also really loved the New 52 Diana storyline of leaving the island, and on.

Another fan asked Jenkins about the film's influence, and which comics inspired her take on the character. She went back to her roots, and to the comics she loves most, stating that Marston's run had a heavy influence over the movie.
@LetsTalkDiana The original Marston run, of course. The George Perez run. Then lots of things from here and there.
