It looks like The Flash is not done with Gorilla Grodd just yet. The psychic ape may be holed up in Gorilla City, but that does not mean the fan-favorite baddie can't make things difficult for Barry Allen. When The Flash comes back after its midseason hiatus, the superhero drama will see the speedster reunited with Grodd in a two-part episode. And, now, fans have learned that Solovar will also star in the special thanks to Keith David.
NEXT: Gorilla City Coming in Flash Season 3
Earlier today, The CW made a slew of announcements as the winter press tour for the Television Critics Association. It was there that executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said Solovar would be coming to The Flash in the Grodd special. Episodes 13 and 14 will feature the wise leader of Gorilla City, and DC fans are excited to see him debut.
Actor Keith David is the man who will bring Solovar to life on The Flash. If you are not familiar with the actor's name, then you may know is work. David is known for his work on projects like Kulipari: An Army of Frogs, Once Upon A Time, and Adventure Time. He has also had live-action roles in Greenleaf, Person of Interest, and Enlisted.
When it comes to Grodd, the ape's original voice actor from The Flash will reprise the monstrous role. David Sobolov tweeted about the character's return in December, and fans were excited to hear about his return.
Of course, fans have known for some time that Grodd would make an appearance in The Flash's third season. During the TCA's summer press tour, The CW announced that the villain would appear in the new season. Grodd has been one of the show's most prolific villains as he has starred in both season one and two. At the end of his second season romp, Grodd found himself transported to Earth-2 where he was abandoned outside of Gorilla City. In the comics, Grodd can be seen in that location numerous times and often clashes with Solovar for control over the ape paradise.
