According to Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot, that is mainly due to the movie’s director Patty Jenkins. As Gadot described to THR, it was Jenkins that ultimately made the character relatable.
“Credit Patty for not turning [Wonder Woman] into a ballbuster,” says Gadot. “Wonder Woman can be very charming and warm and have so much compassion and love for the world. She can be soft and naive. At the same time, she just happens to be this demigoddess who can beat the shit out of you and can be a super badass and smart and confident. Ultimately, she’s very relatable.”
From early reactions, it seems Jenkins’ vision is going over well with fans, as the film has scored a 96% rating on rotten tomatoes from critics. The film currently enjoys a 4.11 out of 5 on ComicBook.com’s anticipation rankings. You can find the official synopsis below.
