A fake image is circulating around the Internet, suggesting that players can earn a Legendary Raid Pass for beating 100 "normal" raids in Pokemon Go. The image popped up yesterday and has since been circulated on multiple Facebook and Reddit pages, despite the fact that it's clearly been Photoshopped.

When Pokemon Go added raids to the game last week, Niantic official confirmed that the new mechanic would eventually be used to bring in Legendary Pokemon to the game. We now know that Legendary Raids will be "Level 5" raids, the highest tier of difficulty raid found in the game.

At least initially, only players who were "active" in the game's new gym system would be eligible to participate in the Legendary Raids.

However, while we still don't know what "active" means, we do know that Legendary Raid Passes currently aren't part of the game. While dataminers discovered both Legendary Raid Eggs and a medal for beating a Legendary Raid, there was no evidence of a "Legendary Raid Pass" currently in the game.

Niantic has also stated that a code to participate in Legendary Raids will be distributed via email to players at a later date.

We'll likely hear more information about Pokemon Go's plans for Legendary Pokemon in the next month or so. However, expect it to come from another press release or announcement instead of a sketchy looking screenshot.
