Injustice 2: We Could See Starfire's First Trailer or Gameplay Today

Today is an exciting day for DC Comics and Injustice 2 fans. At 3PM Central, the crew at NetherRealm Studios will be hosting the first Injustice 2 Watchtower livestream we've seen in a while. The stream will be focused on Sub-Zero since he'll be joining the roster as the latest DLC character on July 11 (get an early peek at his gear in the gallery), but a cryptic (or not so cryptic) tweet from NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon makes us think that we may have a surprise in store this afternoon:

Well that's definitely a star, and that's definitely fire. Since Starfire is the only remaining DLC character in the first fighter pack that hasn't been given a release date or gameplay footage, we think it's safe to assume that if Ed Boon was going to tease something, it would be the reveal of one of those two things. We already know Starfire is next in line to be released, and we already know that she's the last DLC character before the next three are revealed.
This could go one of two ways. Typically a Watchtower streams kicks off with a trailer, but usually they show the gameplay or intro trailer for the character featured in the stream. We would expect, therefore, to kick things off with the Sub-Zero trailer before the Watchtower goes through its customary question and answer period to kick things off. After the Q&A, we get to the gameplay.
It's possible that NetherRealm will either kick off the show with a brand new Starfire trailer, or else conclude the stream with a new Starfire trailer to keep fans watching 'til the very end. It's also possible, but less likely, that Starfire shows up during the gameplay segment to face off against Sub-Zero. Following Ed Boon's declaration that Sub-Zero can beat Batman in a fight we'd expect a Batman showdown, but hey, we'll take some Starfire gameplay if it's ready to go.
Tune in at 3PM central. We'll be hosting the Watchtower livestream right here, and we'll be sure to report in with any big breaks or new trailers!
