We’re well over a month away from the Gamescom German gaming conference, but that isn’t stopping some companies from making their plans – and Microsoft is one of the first out of the gate.

The company announced on its Xbox Wire website today that it’s bringing both hardware and software to the big gaming event for all to see. It will mark the debut of the Xbox One X hardware in Europe for the first time (following its debut at E3 last month), and, along with that, the company will have a full array of titles to play, with 27 in all. These include upcoming favorites like Forza Motorsport 7, Age of Empires: Definitive Edition, Cuphead and Sea of Thieves, amongst others.
In addition, the company will host a live event that takes place local time on Sunday, August 20th at 12 PM PDT, and fans will be able to check out the latest announcements at that time, as well as details on forthcoming games that have been revealed. The show will be hosted by Graeme “AceyBongos” Boyd and Xbox Germany’s Maxi Graeff.
Following that, Age of Empires will get a livestream on Monday, August 21st at 12 PM PDT, where fans will be able to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series in style. Details haven’t been given on this stream yet, but expect some possible announcements.
Xbox FanFest will also be taking place for those that are attending the huge game event in person, starting off on Tuesday, August 22nd and running through Saturday, August 26th. More details on a location will be available soon. In addition, games will be playable at the Xbox booth all week long.
All of the events will be live-streamed, and there’s a pretty good chance we’ll see stuff on the show floor as well, giving us an idea of what to expect from the Xbox One X when it makes its debut this November. As far as surprises go, your guess is as good as ours, but we know Microsoft was saving some good stuff for this particular show, so we’ll see what is has planned.
