The attack speed-focused League of Legends jungler Xin Zhao has officially been added to the list of champions that are up for reworks soon according to the Champion Update Schedule.

While champions have been added to the update schedule one or two at a time for recent reworks, the schedule has seen several different champions come and go from its ranks just within the year. With Warwick, Galio, and Urgot already marked off the list for this year, there are still a few more to go that'll be receiving both Gameplay Updates and more in-depth Visual and Gameplay Updates.

Currently, the lineup on the Champion Update Schedule is as follows:

  • Xin Zhao – Gameplay Update
  • Evelynn – Visual and Gameplay Update
  • Swain – Visual and Gameplay Update
  • Aatrox – Gameplay Update

Despite plans for Xin Zhao's smaller rework being announced fairly recently, he's currently sitting at the top of the list for the upcoming reworks. When his champion update was announced recently during the Champion Roadmap preview, his update was said to be sooner rather than later, but the current schedule shows that it is indeed coming quite soon.

As for the details of his update, they're looking to maintain his core dash in, do damage combo while making his overall abilities a bit more interesting.

"The Seneschal of Demacia will be a smaller update aimed at upgrading a few of his less interesting abilities and also giving him a strong strategic identity in League," Riot Reav3 wrote in his Champion Roadmap post. "We know that the core essence of Xin's playstyle is his E->Q dash knockup combo. So rather than messing with a good thing, we're focusing on the W as an opportunity to add both some counterplay and a much more skillful tool to his kit."

When the list order was brought up in discussions concerning how high Xin Zhao was up on the list, Reav3 commented that the current list is what they're planning as far as timing goes, but the order is completely subject to change.

The Champion Update Schedule doesn't account for new champions though, so we'll be sure to see some new faces peppered in between the reworked champs.
