After being teased and previewed several times in recent weeks as the release date of the Star Guardians content approached, the five new members of the Star Guardian team are finally ready to descend to Summoner’s Rift. They’re bringing their faithful, magical mediums with them as well, each one of the flying companions’ getting their own time in the spotlight with the Star Guardians’ new character bios that have also been created for the event.
To top it all off, plenty of merch options are available through Riot Games that include much more than the mini-figure set that was previously released in China and scheduled for a widespread release. If Star Guardians and anime-themed content are your thing, you’re going to love the next few weeks of Star Guardian-filled content.
Meet the New Star Guardians
ย
Joining the current majestic Star Guardians are five new additions that double the team with skins now available for Ahri, Miss Fortune, Syndra, Ezreal, and Soraka.
Each of the skins for the champions are now available for 1350 RP with the exception of Ahri’s skin that costs 1820 RP. All of the skins include new visual and sound effects, and Star Guardian Ahri also has completely new voiceover lines.
To add more depth to the champions and their new skins, each one of the five new Star Guardians as well as the OG team all received new bios on League’s Universe page that highlight their favorite foods, school subjects, and what combat skill they’re best at. A nine-part story called “Starfall” is also ready to be read through a similar Universe page that tells the tales of the Star Guardians and their magic mediums.
Fight Off Monsters in the New Invasion Game Mode
The new Star Guardians arrived at the perfect time, because in the new Invasion game mode, tons of monsters are doing their best to destroy the Starlight, and it’s up to the Star Guardians to stop them.
In the new PvE game mode, teams of five fend off wave after wave of enemies that are modeled after existing champions and critters in League of Legends, often those that come from the Void.
Invasion is live now and will be playable for two full weeks before it ends on Sept. 25, so get your fabulous team together and save the world while you can.
Craft Loot Through the Star Guardian Event
Along with the Invasion game mode and the new skins, League of Legends players can also craft rewards through missions centered around the Star Guardians.
The first mission that kicks off the challenges is easy enough, simply tasking players to take part in the Invasion game mode in either the base difficulty or a harder version. By completing subsequent missions, players can earn Starlight Tokens that can be transformed into either the event-exclusive New Horizon Ward or a Hextech Mystery Champion that’ll turn into a random champion for your champ pool.
Like the Invasion game mode, the crafting opportunity will only be available for a limited time so don’t let whatever Starlight Tokens you earn go to waste before the event ends.
