Elite: Dangerous has a new update set to drop at the end of September and the next step in the space exploration adventure sees a deadly alien race as they take the fight against humanity to a new level.

As the latest trailer above states, “The Thargoids have attacked. Aegis, humanity’s first line of defense, researches new technologies to oppose the Thargoid threat.” The update is called The Return and the vengeful race is enough to make even the most seasoned explorer shake in their boots.
First introduced into the game back in January, Elite: Dangerous players all over the world have began to report strange findings regarding the new race. Some even saying that they’ve been pulled into hyperspace left to drift aimlessly as an unidentifiable air craft looks on.
Since January, there have been several other sightings, including structural installments never-before-seen erected on various planets. In true Elite fashion, more information on these mysterious encounters has been scarce but the latest update aims to change that.
With the update on its way, the latest video gives a cinematic look into the events that led to this abrasive confrontation. With a powerful weapon face off, one thing that is known for sure is the revelation that humanity shot first incurring the wrath of the Thargoids. The epic battle that awaits will be a struggle to survive against a race shrouded in mystery and long-standing origins.
Elite: Dangerous is available now for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The 2.4 update titled The Return goes live on September 26th.
