Nintendo’s Next SplatFest Asks The Question – How Do You (Toilet) Roll?

There's been an argument going for the longest time on the Internet about how people set up their toilet roll – coming down from the front side of it, or rolling down from the back? Now, we don't get what all the hubbub is about – if you need toilet paper, it rolls fine both ways, right? But that hasn't stopped Nintendo of Europe from setting up the next Splatoon 2 SplatFest around it.

Yep, that's right, the next SplatFest, which is set to take place this forthcoming weekend, asks players to choose a side – do you roll front ways with your toilet paper, or do you roll from the back?

The SplatFest is set to take place this coming Saturday starting at 16:00 CEST, and will no doubt settle the argument between the two sides. (Okay, it won't, but it'll give some players bragging rights for at least a few days.)

As to what could've inspired the mode, it looks like a tweet from a fan of the game may have been behind it. A Twitter user named Frizer has posted a picture from the game, with his player asking which way other players, ahem, "roll", so to speak. We didn't quite hear their answer, but it was apparently enough for Nintendo of Europe to set up their next event around it.

Nintendo of America hasn't confirmed the event for our shores yet, but considering how popular the last SplatFest ended up being, we're likely to hear about it as soon as tomorrow or Tuesday. We're not sure if they'll, ahem, "roll" with this idea or not, but it would be an interesting approach for a SplatFest. We'll see what the company announces over the next few days.

And there's a great marketing idea here as well – how about Splatoon toilet paper? And for that matter, a gun in the game that enables you to shoot toilet paper at your adversaries, which then creates a spread across the ground with paint? Or maybe we're looking too deep into this whole toilet paper thing…?
